Legislative Issues:
The Oklahoma Association of REALTORS® is at the State Capitol every day during the legislative session, promoting the interests of REALTORS® and their clients. Every piece of legislation filed (this year, more than 2,300 bills) is analyzed by OAR to determine any potential impact on the real estate industry. OAR’s Legislative, Political and Regulatory Affairs Committee recommends positions to the OAR Board of Directors on these bills, which are lobbied accordingly.

Regulatory Issues:
In addition to our advocacy before the Oklahoma’s legislature, OAR also works with various state regulatory agencies to ensure a healthy business environment and successful home ownership. We work closely with the Oklahoma Real Estate Commission on all licensing legislative changes and regulatory rules. We also monitor other state agencies who impact real estate in some way, ranging from the Insurance Department to the Banking Department.

Grassroots Advocacy:
Our grassroots advocacy system, VoterVOICE, enables Oklahoma REALTORS® to stay on top of current legislative information and to communicate with their elected officials. When issues arise at the State Capitol, members receive e-mail alerts that allow easy online contact to State Representatives and Senators with a few clicks of the mouse. Making the REALTOR® voice heard has never been easier!

Oklahoma RPAC:
RPAC stands for the REALTORS® Political Action Committee of Oklahoma. RPAC provides every REALTOR® the opportunity to support pro-REALTOR political candidates at the federal, state and local levels. Oklahoma RPAC supports candidates who support our issues, regardless of political party. From each dollar given to Oklahoma RPAC, 30 cents goes to federal candidates, 20-30 cents goes to local candidates, and 40-50 cents goes to state candidates. Recommendations on which candidates are supported with RPAC dollars are collected from REALTORS® across the state, just like you.
